"The Duchess of Mandalore" was another great episode of The Clone Wars featuring the Duchess Satine, a woman of power and strong convictions.
Normally, I'm not a fan of pacifists, but the Duchess does see fit to defend herself and her home planet if necessary, so I'll cut her a little slack. She is committed to peace and neutrality, and I admire those who stand up for their beliefs, as long as they aren't too stupid. She seems willing to fight the Death Watch if need be in order to maintain their peaceful way of life.
Peace and freedom don't come without a cost!
Perhaps she sees the corruptness of the Republic government, and refuses their "help" out of fear for her homewold's independence.
There's a nice bit of further interaction between her and her old flame Obi-Wan. They really make an attractive couple, but sadly they cannot be together. It's too bad; they could have had Force sensitive children with Satine's strong will... those children might have saved the Jedi Order!
I'm not sure if I was Obi-Wan I would have worn my armor while trying to sneak around Coruscant. "Nice disguise," he tells Satine, but his wasn't so great. LOL
All in all it was a good episode, I hope we see more of Satine in the future!

Nice blog! It's interesting to see Obi-Wan interacting with Satine. They would have made a great match. :)
those children might have saved the Jedi Order - - yeh, but then what kind of story would we have... hummmmmmmm....

I've said it more than once, and I'll probably say it more than once again. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about saying it, though. :p The Mandalore arc is the best thing The Clone Wars has had to offer us since its conception. THIS is how a Clone Wars story arc should be constructed -- funny, emotional, action-packed, and not overwhelming or underwhelming in any of those aspects. I'm going to miss those bucket-headed, Mando'a spouting losers and their pacifist planet. ;)
And this loss is going to be punctuated by the weak-looking Padme episode we're getting on March 5. (Ten points for whoever knows what else is happening on March 5!!! I'll give you a hint: Captain Sparrow thinks it's rather important. ;) )
For reasons I can't explain, we're losing her. Padme, that is. She was great during the film, but she has become a wimpy character who I dread seeing. In moderation, such as how she was mixed in during the last Mando episode, she's fine. But I don't understand why we have to have these huge Padme binges that drag on and on and don't seem to get anywhere.
I plan on presenting my grievances to Dave Filoni personally when I see him at WonderCon. :p I'm told he won't listen to me, but at least I can say I tried. :^O

I don't know, I've been thinking about this for a while. On one hand, I'd love to go easy on her because I think, at some point, she would've fought back if she needed to. But on the other hand, I think just the notion of being a pacifist is stupid, because true pacifism is a paradox: by your inaction, people end up dying. So you might've killed less people by actually acting.
My pronoun, in this instance, is referring to Satine, not you, Giddy. :^O You're certainly not a pacifist, if SWG is any indication. :p

They make an adorable couple!!! She's wonderful, and he's so cute. :x

Me too! She's my third favorite "new" Clone Wars character, after Ahsoka and Nuvo Vindi. :D

Yeah! What he said...

Noooooooooo! Not another Padme episode, please! She got awfully wimpy in the films, too. Somewhere between AOTC and ROTS she turned into Ani's little mommy figure.

That's the truth, and I know you don't mean me. We've killed too many stormies together! LOL

No, I was talking about the TCW film. She was absolutely awesome, and much, much, much, much, much, much better than she is during ATOC and ROTS, and even TPM. But now...she ruins everything. :p

Interesting. I thought she was one of the most boring characters in the show yet... certainly the most boring one to have three episodes devoted to her. Just goes to show that my tastes are way off, as usual.
