OT, PT, SE, EU, SWG, TCW... If It's a Star Wars Acronym, I Want More!

I can't get enough Star Wars. Maybe it's a disease, but if it is I want to die from it.

OT, PT, SE, EU, SWG, TCW... if it's a Star Wars acronym, I want more.

I watch my DVDs. I watch videos on YouTube. I read Fan Fic. I play Star Wars Galaxies. I faithfully DVR The Clone Wars and save the episodes forever.

I sew Jedi costumes and belong to the Rebel Legion. I went to C-IV.

I have some Obi-Wan toys and collectibles, and a gigantic Lego Luke Skywalker.

I read the novels, and even some of the kids' books. (Jude Watson's series are great).

No, I don't like everything out there, especially in the EU. I don't like the Clone Wars novels, and I hated "Darksaber." I skimmed through most of the New Jedi Order just so I'd know where the storyline went, but though it was too long and drawn out for my taste.

But I have to confess; it hasn't been non-stop since 1977. There were the Dark Times in the late 80s and early 90s when there was a noticeable lack of Star Wars. I wondered if my beloved saga was dying a natural death.

But the books started appearing. And rumors of the PT started. I started to notice toys again.

Then the Special Editions came out! Woo-hoo, Star Wars was back! After 12 years of watching on video tape, I saw the movies they way they were meant to be seen... on a big screen with THX sound and a large popcorn...

I was hooked all over again. And by the time ROTS came out on 2005, I was an addict all over again.

So if this is a disorder, I want more! Don't try to cure me, I'll happily live this way, except for one thing: I can't get enough Star Wars!

Attack of the Acronyms!!! :^O :^O

I can't get enough Star Wars. Maybe it's a disease, but if it is I want to die from it.

But if you die from it, you won't get any Star Wars anymore. :p

What about TOR??? ;) You know what I'm thinking? I'm thinking we're going to have to turn to the dark side for this new MMO. I've meditated long and hard on this, and consulted the deepest and most terrifying annals of TOR knowledge in the form of screenshots and walkthroughs and all other manners of remorseless threads of wisdom. That purple Force lightning has gotten the best of me. Sith look waaaay too cool in this game!! :p

I know you emulate my lifestyle because I'm so awesome. ;)

Jude Watson's amazing. Have you read Secrets of the Jedi?

I don't like the Clone Wars novels, and I hated "Darksaber."

Actually, Shatterpoint by Matthew Stover is a pretty good Clone Wars book. And of course, we can't forget Karen Miller!!!

I was hooked all over again. And by the time ROTS came out on 2005, I was an addict all over again.

I've been an addict for nearly eight years now. That's a lifetime for a pirate as young as I am. :p At first, everyone around me thought it was just a phase. Then they thought it was just a brief infatuation. Now they're secure in the knowledge -- as I am -- that I'm in this for life.

So if this is a disorder, I want more! Don't try to cure me, I'll happily live this way, except for one thing: I can't get enough Star Wars!

I'd think there was something wrong with you if you could!

Ha, this is great! I reminds me of Eddie Murphy's Reverend Brown in Coming to America: "If lovin' the lord is wrong, then I don't want to be right!"

Oh dear, I don't know if I can do that... I've tried being Imp on SWG and I always switch back... LOL

Shatterpoint was OK, The Cestus Deception was a little better.... both kinda dragged on and on for me... although I read Cestus on an airplane so that made it better...

Karen Miller is a jewel... I loved "Wild Space" and can't wait for her next book... I just don't care for the novels that make the Jedi look evil, because I just love Jedi so much. :x

I've yet to read "Dark Rendezvous" or "Rule of Two" so I'd better get caught up!

If lovin' the lord is wrong, then I don't want to be right!"

If loving Obi-Wan is wrong, then... what the hell, I'll live with it! :x

Speaking of planes, I read that one in an airport! LOL

See ya at CV.

Not me... my spare change this year is for luxuries like living indoors and eating... :D

So we're going to stick to the boring old Jedi again? Awww, Giddy, you're no fun at all! Can't we just be a teeny bit adventurous for once in our lives? :p

Shatterpoint was OK, The Cestus Deception was a little better.... both kinda dragged on and on for me... although I read Cestus on an airplane so that made it better...

Cestus was really, really, impossibly draggy, which was too bad, because it could've been a good book. I love Stover's writing, so Shatterpoint wasn't a problem for me.

Karen Miller is a jewel... I loved "Wild Space" and can't wait for her next book... I just don't care for the novels that make the Jedi look evil, because I just love Jedi so much.

I can't stand novels that make the Jedi look evil. The Jedi are the heroes!!

I've yet to read "Dark Rendezvous" or "Rule of Two" so I'd better get caught up!

And Crosscurrent came out in paperback last Tuesday. I finished it tonight, and it was a pretty awesome little book! :D

OK, you be the Master and I'll be the apprentice, since you've studied this and I haven't... now, I've got to go fight a battle... LOL

I'm only the Master until we're actually playing the game. It won't be long before my very existance will depend on the fate of all of your clones! ;)

TOR is just very different from SWG. In many ways -- actually, in most ways -- TOR is much more conventional than SWG. Since TOR's gameplay is more of what I'm used to, I feel much more on top of this game than our beloved SWG, even though I haven't even played it yet. Does that make sense? :^O

So yeah, we're going to be Sith Inquisitors, harbingers of the darkness, servants of chaos! LOL :p Unless you want to be a boring old Jedi, in which case, I'll have to relent. Because I don't want to be left behind. ;)

Yes, it makes sense, but probably only to me.. .:D

harbingers of the darkness, servants of chaos!

Yeah, I can see that... we'd be awesome...!!!

I liked the energy of your blog post Gidrea. It sums up those moments when you just want to get moremoremoremoreMORE! It's been a while since I thought about how fresh these first products felt in the early 90's rebirth. "Heir to the Empire", Dark Horse's "Classic Star Wars" series. Those were like gold. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Bring on the acronyms!

Very curious. I can't be rebel in SWG (I feel myself as a traitor. Some kind of mental limitation, dunno) but one thing I know for sure is that I hate siths and I'll fight for the Republic in TOR.
My friends from SWG were mainly rebels and they're all longing to be siths.
I don't understand a thing!!! ?:|

By the way, I cancel my account on Europa-Farstar in a few days. I reached a deadend several months ago in SWG :_|
