Always and forever
Each movie with you
Are better than dreams to me
You know that it's true.
Ah, Star Wars... I love you so much. You may change, but I won't. Prequels come and cartoons go, but my love for you will always be.
And no, it's not just Obi-Wan! LOL (Some of you know me so well!)
Ever since that fateful day in 1977 when my sister said "You HAVE to go see this movie!" I've been hooked. I can't count the number of times she and I saw ESB together. The first time I heard "No, I am your father!" she poked me in the ribs and whispered, "What do you think of that?" LOL
I loved ROTJ, too. I loved how the good guys won and everything worked out fine. I like happy endings. I like heroes who are good guys.
I liked seeing Boba Fett DIE!
I admit I never thought the PT would be made. And it took a while for TPM to grow on me. I thought it was OK, but it didn't take my breath away like ANH (then called simply "Star Wars") did. I thought Qui-Gon was hot, and the Queen had on too much makeup.
But after watching AOTC and falling hopelessly in love with Obi-Wan Kenobi, I appreciated it more. I really think of the PT as a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
And I like The Clone Wars. I don't care if it is a cartoon... it's FUN! Not every episode, mind you, but overall I enjoy it. Who would have thought I'd love the Madalorian story arc, but it was the best by far. Should have been the season finale...
I'm sad that I can't go to C-V since I had a blast at C-IV, but it's not in the cards for me this time. If it had been in California I might have been able to swing it, but maybe next time.
I'm sure I can live it vicariously through Jedi Master Mina anyway. She promises to spam the crap out of my email... LOL
I'm off to dream of Obi-Wan and more STAR WARS!

Have you ever written a blog that I didn't comment on first? :^O
And no, it's not just Obi-Wan! LOL (Some of you know me so well!)
Well, it's not like you make any effort to hide it... :p
she poked me in the ribs and whispered, "What do you think of that?" LOL
What's amazing to me is that she was able to vocalize a cognizant thought. I probably would've just sat there. In silence. If I could've even managed that! Or dropped the popcorn all over myself. I had the good fortune to do that while seeing Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D.
I liked seeing Boba Fett DIE!
I'm going to eject from my starfighter before it crashes and burns. ;)
but it didn't take my breath away like ANH (then called simply "Star Wars")
Weirdly enough, it was the other way around with me. A New Hope left me breathless, but The Phantom Menace made me hyperventilate. :p

Yup, you can say that again.
If it had been in California I might have been able to swing it, but maybe next time.
Same here. On one hand, I cringe just thinking about it, but on the other hand, I'm extremely happy for the people who can go. I guess, by the time CVI rolls around, I'll be able to transport myself to its location, wherever that may be!

And I'm holding her to that! :D

You think HE knows????

She'd already seen it twice before.... my thought was "no freakin' way" or the 80's equivalent...
The Phantom Menace made me hyperventilate.
I wonder why! :^O :^O
Part of my problem with TPM was that I'd bought tickets in advance to see what I thought was on a big screen, and I'd picked the wrong time and got the tiny little screen, so I was in a bad mood when the movie started... and the pod racing bored me, although I liked the guy with two heads...
I guess, by the time CVI rolls around, I'll be able to transport myself to its location, wherever that may be!

If he can see past Satine, Siri, Astri, Taria, and his half dozen other girls, yeah, he knows. :p

Dude, that's far out? Or was that the '60s? Or do we still talk that way?

I second that motion.

Yyyyyyeeeeeeesssssss, definitely one of the more emotional moments of the saga, not to mention a HUGE surprise cause NOBODY saw that coming. I think my jaw dropped to the floor when that scene played.
TPM was...boring...except for Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan scenes...and even Darth Maul scenes. Other than that...completely boring.

Very funny! I'm going to do the same thing to my kid when he sees it for the first time.

Fun stuff!

I think this is understandable. The original Star Wars was something so unlike anything that had come before it, it seems almost impossible that a prequel (with challenges even greater than a sequel) could top it.
And I like The Clone Wars. I don't care if it is a cartoon... it's FUN!
For sure! :D

Dream Away, GL!!! :D
I, too, remember being blown away by Star Wars that fateful day back in '77, and no matter how much time passes, nor how many times I see any of the movies or animated episodes, SW always will have a special place in my heart. :) Some of my favorite memories revolve around SW. :)
I know I am in the minority, but I liked the PT from the get-go. True, it was different from the OT, and if GL had asked my opinion about certain aspects, I would have suggested a few alterations here and there. ;)
However, I saw where he was going. Oh, not that I have some keen insight into his psyche or imagination. I mean I had an idea of where he was going, the groundwork he was trying to put down. I just let my imagination fill in the gaps. :) (Okay, I admit it. I'm just a big kid at heart. Will I ever grow up? ;)
I remember having a chat with my mom, an avid movie-goer (admittedly, not a big SW fan) after each PT film came out. Knowing how into the saga I am, and now having a granddaughter (her youngest) who is almost as avid a SW fan as her ol' auntie, ;) my mom let me know in no uncertain terms how disappointed she was with the PT.
Of course, lots and lots and lots of devoted SW fans, too, were disappointed. :O
There's the rub, though. I think expectations went in one direction, and reality went in another. GL kept saying, right from the beginning, that the PT would be different. Didn't anyone believe him?
I cannot wait for Season 3 of the animated series to come out! :) And I am looking forward - with bated breath - for the live action series to be released. If that is anything like The Young Indiana Jones series that was on TV years ago, I know it will be superb. :)
Dream a little dream of O-W, gl. Sweet dreams to you. :)
